I’ve been blogging for few years now and recently I’ve shut down two of my blogs so I could spend more time developing this one. After all those years in blogging industry, from researching to actual writing, this question poped into my mind just today. Why do I blog? I was stunned that I couldn’t answer the question immediatly. I was speachless for few minutes and it got me thinking what’s blogging really about.
1. Does blogging means posting random text on your blog or writing what your visitors want to read?
2. Do you blog for search engines or do you blog for people?
3. Do you blog for the money or do you blog to spread your word out?
4. What’s your main goal? To become rich or to change the world?
5. Do you find blogging an obligation or privilege?
Answering those five questions may give you an image about where you stand when it comes to blogging. People don’t share same opinions on many things in life as they don’t have the same point of view about blogging so it’s really essential to ask yourself what are you trying to achieve. If you’re just a beginner I have some suggestions for you:
1. Don’t run more than one blog
2. Don’t monetize your blog right away
3. Communicate with your visitors
4. Don’t re-invent the wheel
5. Be patient
Don’t look at blogging as something you must do, think of it as something you love to do. Try to be unique and show your audiance something they haven’t seen before, work hard and be patient. Create!
I have done the same thing. At the peak of my blogging I had 9 blogs. I sold off three, shut down four and now have only two blogs to concentrate on. People have told me that my writing has gotten better, that I seem much more relaxed, and my traffic has increased sharply.

You’re selling TheArticleWriter for $10mil? That’s a nice sum!
Why did you shut down your other blogs, couldn’t you sell them also?
What’s your second blog address?
