I actually thought bloggers don’t do these mistakes anymore since we live in a tech world full of blogging tips but I guess I was wrong. People still repeat such stupid mistakes, looks like they’re never going to learn. The big deal about it is that they’re not some hard-to-prevent mistakes but more like something you can fix within minutes. Save your effort for something you’ll really need it for.
1. No About page
How many times must the blogoshpere tell you, don’t forget to make an About page! Would it kill you if you put a few lines up there? I was browsing the net for some interesting blogs the other day and I ran across a pretty much popular one. When I tried to look for the author I couldn’t find any About page. I thought I must be delusional but it turned out it was nothing wrong with me, the blog didn’t have any information about its creator, not even an email at the footer. Now how am I supposed to contact him? Hack his Wordpress and put a sticky post up there?
2. No posting frequency
Write or die. It’s that simple. Have you asked yourself what could be the reason for a drop in RSS subscribers? Always post at the same time because people get used to it and they adjust to the frequency and you ruining it may cause people to unsubscribe from your blog. If you post once a day, don’t post more! Don’t post once a day for three months and then suddenly increase your posts to five per day, it can only confuse your readers. Research your capabilites, set-up posting frequency and stick to it.
3. Grammar errors
Engrish? I know what you’re going to say, me preaching about grammar… Well, practise makes perfect and you suck at grammar, you should practise. People like to read proper english and if you make a lot of mistakes in your articles, you may loose readers. I’m not talking hundreds of them but if you appreciate your readers you will know every single readers is important and carries a certain amount of value. If you care about your blog, you will care about your readers. Do yourself a favor and take a quick english class.

You hit the spot with that one Raj, I especially get upset when I can’t find any contact info. Number 10 is interesting because I’ve never ran across a website that has a back button disabled.
“…the blog didn’t have any information about its creator, not even an email at the footer. Now how am I supposed to contact him?…”
You don’t have to go to the extent of hacking his blog. Rather you can write to him using comments window, which will be there in (almost) all of his posts.

Srinivasa, www.blogcontestsite.com is one of the blogs I was talking about. No contact information at all.
Sure you can spam his comments page hoping he reads it but that’s not the correct way to contact a website owner. I think everybody can put en email in the footer of the index. It’s not that hard.
