So you get up in the morning ready to go on a full day’s work. You’ve got an important email from Singapore that should have arrived overnight – you need this email for when you talk to another client later this morning at a teleconference. Your home business is thriving.

You pick up your budget computer and turn it on. Hard drive failure. This is your very worst nightmare come true. You realize that you’re going to have blag your way through the teleconference later. You pick up your cheap phone at the agreed time and dial your client’s number… except… your phone is no longer working. The gremlins were in last night and now the world is conspiring against you and your home business.

This isn’t a very likely sequence of events, but hopefully it will begin to highlight the role that dependable, reliable, good quality home office equipment can play in your life. You home business deserves investment

  2. Believe or not a version of these events did indeed happen to me, only my “budget computer” was a brand new 1 week old laptop (definitely not budget brand) and my phone service was off due to the phone company determining that particular day the one to upgrade my phone line!

Even if you do invest, sometimes life just throws stuff your way that you can’t prevent.

Backups plans are priceless (ie: second computer, and skype/ cell phone!).
