While I was surfing vangardx’s blog I couldn’t leave without noticing the popular backlinking game. This is sort of a chain-letter with links inside and the point of it is increasing the number of backlinks to your website. Now there aren’t just pure links in the letter but there are anchor texts which give your links a personality. Anchor text is a description you provide when adding a link on your blog, like that.

I started looking at all those links and I noticed my website labeled as marketfederation. If you know anything about optimizing your blog you probably heard about anchor text optimization. Optimizing anchor texts is highly important due to the fact they help you a lot with high rankings in search engines. The use of keywords can make significant change in your SERPs that’s why everybody constantly remind about using relevant words.
In my case it would be better if vangardx linked to me as blogging tips or web 2.0 news rather than marketfederation, that way it looks natural and it will help me rank better for the keyphrase blogging tips. Make your anchor texts look natural and try to change them every now and then because Google won’t be happy if your website about color picker (you know what I mean) gets 500 links in a month all with the same anchor text. Don’t over do it.
