After the Million Dollar Wiki and Getmeamini, new project is born and Andrew Galasetti calls it Goldigg. Goldigg is basically a Digg clone but with several twists. One of those twists is restricted number of registered members, there are only 5,000 places available (4,993 left as I write this) and once that’s reached no more will be created. Andrew wants to add more value to each member and he hopes restricting number of spots will help him achieve that. Oh, and there’s one more twist - it costs 100$ to join Goldigg. Yes it’s not free but that’s what it’s all about.
Let’s hear what Andrew says: I started the site to pay for college, donate to charity, and to fund my future ventures. I wanted to create a simple idea like Alex Tew’s site but something that also had value to users…

…Registration is not free like Digg, to join it will cost $100. Once a person joins they can earn that money back by displaying ads in their posts, charging to submit a story, charging to vote, or anything else, like selling their account. - he continued. Goldigg is a social news site with it’s own micro economy, which could generate more revenue than Andrew hope to gain with this project. His goal is to earn $500,000 and donate half to the Modest Needs foundation.
If you want to contact him, drop him a mail to info [at] goldigg [dot] com. Goldigger, what a funny name.
Interesting idea, i wonder if it will work out for him.

Someone who purchased a page on WordHugger.com (my site), is starting a site like this called milliondollardig (dot com). Best of luck to both of them!

This is Andrew, the creator of Goldigg. Yes, I have heard of milliondollardig.com but it is totally different than what I have created. Good luck to you and him both anyhow.

vangardx there are many of these types of websites out there but I hope that I stepped away from the “million dollar -word-” sites. I tried to create something that people would come to even after all memberships were sold, and I believe they will.

Since most of “big players” mentioned in this blog post posted their reply I think I should post mine too
Getting your pic on my car. I haven’t seen that on the big ol’ wwww yet (at least in not such scale as I’m after). + traffic from projects website (already seen, but still a good deal:))
First - thanks Daniel for mentioning my project (Get Me A Mini)
Second - I think mine is the most unique amongst them
