I’m surfing DigitalPoint forums and suddently I see this topic title I can’t resist. I have to click on it. It says PageRank is going to be transformed to WebRank. Now that’s out of the blue and I wasn’t sure whether this is real or yet another rumour.
According to sources close to Google, the reason for a huge delay in the PageRank update this quarter can be attributed directly to the new algorithm used to judge the quality scores of websites. This new algorithm is taking longer than normal due to server overload. Its also being reported that after receiving numerous feedback regarding the “uselessness” of PageRank from webmasters they will be releasing a new set of variables that ranks websites and assigns the number we all know as PR.
Now why would Google do something like this all of the sudden and why would they rename PageRank to WebRank which is already a registered trademark of Yahoo? Well ofcourse they wouldn’t because non of this is true! It’s all part of Keith Schilling’s evil linkbait plan and it works, it works very well actually. People started talking and argueing on DigitalPoint while he laughed at them and attracted a lot of new visitors to his blog. Ofcourse some forumers got angry and if they could they would beat the crap out of him but many people got introduced to his site and this is what matters the most. No traffic bought, no diggs or stumbles exchanged - only a clever idea is what he needed to gain traffic.
This is an example of a very good linkbait and it shows what can be done if you’re just a little sneaky. Nice job Keith!
