I’ve been hitting my head against the wall recently trying to figure out how to make my PayPal account accept money. See, I live in Slovenia and I thought I could recieve and send money just like any other member of European Union but PayPal doesn’t share these thoughts with me. Oh no, they listed Slovenia as unapproved country so I can only send funds and not recieve them. That wouldn’t be such a problem if half of the world wouldn’t use PayPal as the main payment gateway so if your PayPal account is limited, you’re pretty much banned from the online business world.
When I just wanted to accept that, I saw this thread on DP – a guy selling VCCs for 6$/pop. Wee I thought and quickly orderd one not knowing virtual credit cards only verify your PayPal account, they don’t remove the limits. Slam! In my face for being such an uneducated fool. Now I was sure it was over, I had to accept the fact of limitation again and when I just wanted to close DP tab I see a discussion about e-commerce companies…
There are companies that offer e-commerce services such as payment gateways on your website for a fee and Plimus is one of them, if not the best.
Plimus provides payment processing, credit card processing, e-commerce and e-business solutions. We take payments for credit cards, checks, purchase orders, wire transfers and much more. We are a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing. Our comprehensive platform provides order management, fraud prevention, export controls, tax calculation management, multi-lingual support, multi-currency transactions. We manage online businesses for thousands of vendors, tens of thousands of affiliates and millions of end customers. Our e-commerce solution is designed to help independent companies of all sizes to grow e-business revenues, and to reduce the costs and risks of running an e-commerce operation.
Now that is what I’ve been looking for all my life! Plimus lets you install payment processing system on your website and integrate it with your current design so it fits your layout perfectly. Now you can accept everything from credit cards to PayPal on your website, no more worries about PayPal limitations. Setup is free but there are some processing fees:

Minimum balance for cash-out is 35$ and if you earn less than that in a month, your funds will be carried over to the next month. Simple, effective and wonderful! If you have PayPal problems like me, Plimus is something you should consider using.

Is Your PayPal Send-Only? No Problem At All…
I’ve been hitting my head against the wall recently trying to figure out how to make my PayPal account accept money. See, I live in Slovenia and I thought I could recieve and send money just like any other member of European Union but PayPal doesn’…
Hello,
I am Romanian, so we are pretty much in the same situation: we can only send money through PayPal, we cannot receive money.
Fortunately, I work for Avangate, an e-commerce solution for shareware online sales. I work with shareware people every day – people that, like you and me, have the same problem you have just described.
Plimus is indeed a solution to accept PayPal payments. Actually, as far as I know Plimus was a solution because I know they stoped their cooperation with PayPal.
Still, for European software companies or sole traders producing shareware and selling it online, there is another e-commerce solution that is called Avangate (www.avangate.com). I just thought it would be of general interest to know that alternatives do exist.
If not better, probably as good as Plimus, Avangate integrates PayPal payment method along with credit/debit cards, wire transfer, fax, etc.
So, I am inviting you to make a review of Avangate and let your readers know if it can be a solution for their online payments.
Laurentiu, thank you for a suggestion. Looks like Avangate is similiar to Swreg. I’ll definitly write about it in the near future because many bloggers sell software online but it’s too bad Avangate supports only software selling. I’ll notify you upon review, thanks!
Finally, time to really start USING Paypal.
Btw Daniel, I transfered my blog Check it out @ internetling.com
I thought you got lost on vacation
. Congratulations on your new blog!
I am not sure how Plimus has stopped working with PayPal, as my customer has just paid with PayPal through Plimus.
I am not sure if Plimus can send money to your PayPal account, so not sure how you can use it. You start using Plimus instead, not Paypal.
What I also like about Plimus is that you can edit the store on the fly, though the payments for the month arrive on 15th of the next month.
And yes, it is funny how PayPal list Russia (yes, I’m from Russia) in the supported countries list, allow sending money, but don’t give a way to add money to the account. Go figure.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Plimus. I’d recommend Plimus to anyone selling misc products online and Avangate and Swreg to people selling computer software.
I’ve written an article about this on my blog – and also reveal a little trick about Plimus.
Considering that transaction fees are quite big for small transactions, every good marketer would try to find a way to bypass this.
The trick is to use PayPal as your payment gateway (~1.9%-2.9% fees) and when you have 280$+ on your PayPal account transfer it to Plimus (“order” something etc.).

Nice article, Daniel!
I have done a little research about paypal myself, but haven’t tried it in practise. Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t. Maybe you will answer me that it won’t and I will be very grateful for that
I have called to paypal and asked them when Slovenia will join the supported country, they had nothing to answer. I guess that will be arount New Year. Logical. Then I asked whether I could go to Austria Klagenfurt and open bank account there. Austria is a country where PayPal is fully supported. They answered, that is not possible to have austrian and slovenian data in the same account. So I asked whether It is ok with them if I open another account with same name, but with cards from different countries. That was OK with them as long as one account is premier and another one is basic.
So I called bank in Klagenfurt to ask if there is any obstacle to open an account at their bank. They replied: “no problem, just take your passport and you will be fine”.
Now, all that looks too easy. There must be something… mm. undocumented…
What do you think?
regards,
Wow stari, I have never though of that. That’s really a good idea, I wonder if it works. If you decide to try that out, be sure to notify me and post updates here
