Free Niche Ideas Worth Thousands Of Dollars

Before you start a new website you probably need to know what it’s going to be about. Finding a good niche is not an easy task to perform, especially if you’re totaly cluless about the market around you and you’re there just to make money and don’t really care about the passion of blogging and sharing information. There are many guides on the internet on the subject of finding and choosing a good niche and I also wrote about it in my Don’t Re-Invent The Wheel, Choose Your Niche Properly post but there’s one place where you can get ideas, you would usualy pay hundreds and even thousands of dollars, for free.

That place is called 43 Things. Does it ring a bell to you? 43 Things is a social networking website where people write about what they would like to do and the wishes and ideas are presented in a form of tags. The whole idea behind it is to find exactly what people want and search for. The thing is people are ready to pay for something they desperatly want and you can use that knowledge to earn money. Sneaky isn’t it?

Register and login to 43things.com and the first thing you’ll see is something like this:

Those are tags written in varying fonts, sizes and styles. Biggest and boldest tags represent what most of people desire which means there’s a market for your potential website. Each time you refresh the page you’ll get different tags but on our picture we can see three most desired things: a) be happy, b) get a tatoo and c) learn to play the guitar.

Splendid! Now what? Now it’s time for you to pick one (or several) and do a little research about the possible market and start a website on the topic. Whether you monetize your business or not is totaly up to you but most people are here to make money, right? 43 Things is a perfect effective free market resource because people using the website tell you exactly what it is they need information on. The bigger the tag, the bigger the market is and you must be one ignorant mofo if you don’t use this given information to make a buck. Next time we’ll talk about monetizing your niche.

I’ve seen that done (maybe copied) elsewhere. Great idea anyway.

I do get inspired by different websites, blogs and people and I always include a backlink when I quote or copy parts of the content but I never steal.
