Content Is The King, But What About Your Layout?

It’s absolutely true when they say content is the king. Without a good content you can’t expect to grow your website because people don’t like the bullshit, but what about your layout? Have you ever asked yourself, is my design important too? If not, you really should because the way your blog looks is as important as your quality posts. You generate new clicks every day and each minute you have new visitors crawling all over your blog but it’s not hard to get new visitors, it’s hard to keep them. First impression is important. When someone visits your blog he/she first takes a look at your layout. Let’s make an example:

1. Some random guy visits your cars-related blog and the first second the page is displayed he thinks “look at that poor design, this guy must be joking”. He forces himself to stay because maybe you have something interesting to read about but eventualy he’s going to leave because it’s just killing his eyes. He’s going to forget about your blog and never come back.

2. Now let’s say you have a pretty good/proffesional looking wordpress layout. A random guy loads yourblog.com and he is blown away! He says “damn, this is nice” and bookmarks it. The next day he tells his friends about it who tell their friends about it and you have free traffic.

So, remember, when you scare someone away you don’t loose just one visitor, you loose many and there’s never enough traffic. Make a good impression, because despite the good quality people need to be attracted to your blog in order to see what’s hiding in it. Good design is half the blog.
