About

A recent article about Ares brought me back to the “good old days” of Napster and bearshare . I miss being able to download music without fear of the RIAA sending lawyers to my front door armed with subpoenas.Yes, I do still find some music without having to shell out $20 a pop for CD’s, but things are a little more scary now. And gone are the days when I would give a CD as a gift to a friend or relative. I’ve actually been getting the Sansa digital MP3 players for my nieces and nephews, and loading them up with some of my personal music collections. As for where I find music for downloading, lately its been Ares , but it seems there are all kinds of new options for downloading music springing up everday.I don’t think the recording artists of america are going to lose many sales from the music I’ve downloaded to pass on to my nieces and nephews. My strange mix of 70’s classic rock and classical music probably won’t stay on the players long after Christmas day. Probably just until they get on the computer and fire up Ares. Oh well, can’t say I didn’t try.
