17 Years Old Highschool Dropout Makes 70,000$/month

This is really amazing. 17-years old Ashley Qualls makes 70,000$ a month running CPM and CPC ads on her MySpace resource website called Whateverlife. Ashley dropped out of highschool after she realized she doesn’t need a job since she runs multi-million dollars niche and she already refused a $1,5mil offer to sell her business. Fast Company has published an article about her, let’s see what they say about her:

Late last year, Ian Moray stumbled across a cotton-candy-pink Web site called Whateverlife.com. As manager of media development at the online marketing company ValueClick Media (NASDAQ:VCLK), he was searching for under-the-radar destinations for notoriously fickle teenagers. Beyond MySpace and Facebook, countless sites come and go in the teen universe, like soon forgotten pop songs. But Whateverlife stood out. It was more authentic somehow. It featured a steady supply of designs for MySpace pages and attracted a few hundred-thousand girls a day. “Clever design, a growing base–that’s a no-brainer for us,” Moray says.

Her website generates 7 million monthy visitors and over 60 million page views which is more than enough to earn some decent money with ValueClick and Casale Media. This is a good example of what a targeted niche can mean for business. Truly inspiring. You can read more about this story on DoshDosh’s blog where he explains everything in more details including possible ways for Ashley to generate even more money.

Interesting story. But I would not have encouraged her to drop out of school simply because of this.Education is the greatest resource :)

I also wouldn’t trade education with anything in the world except health but young people living in capitalism don’t think twice when they get that kind of opportunity.

How old are your kids? You better teach them something while they’re still young, perhaps they’ll support the whole familiy soon. You never know with these 21st century kids! :D
